Boredom is not a word you hear often at Domaine des Etangs. There’s simply too much to do. Children revel in the freedom of our wide-open spaces, spending hours in the dedicated outdoor play area and frolicking in the pool before turning to more low-key activities like exploring the trunks packed full of costumes and games in our treasure-filled Attic playspace. Families can take a rowboat out on the pond, go horseback riding through the forest, take a picnic into the meadow, or retreat to the wellness center for an afternoon of age-appropriate pampering. With recreation around every corner and abundant scope for imagination, the Domaine is a child’s delight and a parent’s haven.

Rainy days and cold weather are something to look forward to when there’s a sprawling Attic full of mysterious trunks and shelves of much-beloved books to explore.
This inviting attic space at the very top of the Château is packed with games, puppets and costumes just waiting to be played with. Table football and billiards round out the fun.
Children are also welcome in the cozy Library, which is well-stocked with kids’ books and comic collections for languorous afternoons of reading.

Dining here has as many permutations as you have preferences. Our chef can cook a private meal in your Farmhouse Cottage, or we will supply the ingredients and let you take the toque in your fully equipped kitchen. The Château dining room can be reserved for private dinners, large or small. And our 2,500 acres of meadows, lawns, and woodland are always open for a fresco dining. We are delighted to prepare everything you need for picnics, barbecues, and every kind of outdoor meal, complete with wines selected for the setting and season.

And Domaine staff happily take on babysitting duty, entertaining children at a lively afternoon tea while parents enjoy an afternoon nap or a trip to the spa.

The largest of our suites at 1,582 sq. ft., Venus is the embodiment of Château life. Antique furniture is paired with contemporary art, making the living, dining, and bedroom feel fresh and fun. An extra-large bathroom and walk-in closet add even more space.

Cassiopée | Metairie Cottages
Ideal for a family or two couples, the Cassiopée cottage is the embodiment of Charente-Limousin country living. This historic cottage has two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living room centered around an enormous stone hearth that automatically draws people together. Located close to our Pégase cottage, guests can rent both together for larger gatherings.

The best of both worlds, Pégase combines convivial, communal spaces, including garden, kitchen, and generous living room, with plenty of privacy—five bedrooms, each with its own bath. An enormous wooden footbridge adds a touch of historic charm. Located close to our Cassiopée cottage, guests can rent both together for larger gatherings.
