Auberge Resorts Collection Curates Destination-Inspired Experiences at the Beach, by the Pool and in the Mountains

MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (December 12, 2022) – With its portfolio of breathtaking oceanfront oases, cozy retreats and iconic mountainside towns, Auberge Resorts Collection introduces Sea to Summit Escapes, a new series of destination-inspired experiences centered around some of the world’s most stunning beaches, pools and peaks. From poolside spa treatments surrounded by tropical forest at Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, in Costa Rica, to a whale-watching safari from the air as well as the water along the Pacific coast of Mexico at Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection, in Los Cabos, to a caviar-and-champagne après ski experience at Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection, in Aspen, and an outdoor speakeasy at The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection in Park City, the winter season with Auberge is full of fun, sun and mountainside activities. Inspired by their unique surroundings—from sand and sea to serene pool waters to alpine air and majestic ridges—these one-of-a-kind retreats offer couples and families the opportunities to share quality time while recharging, reconnecting and discovering something new this year.

“This winter is about exploring and connecting within the most beautiful beachside, poolside and mountainside destinations, where wondrous landscapes are a remedy for the mundane, inspiring new and enriching discoveries and experiences,” Craig Reid, president and chief executive officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “With exclusive events taking place across the Auberge portfolio, we are delighted to offer our guests something extraordinary for their 2023 travels.”

Seaside excursions

On Hawaii’s Kohala Coast, modern adventurers and aspiring photographers at Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection can embark on a sensory expedition across the waters of the Pacific aboard a 42-foot powerboat, Kalama Kai, the resort’s newest addition to a fleet of marine experiences. As guests coast along paths once admired by Hawaii’s most iconic navigators, they’ll capture the magic of Humpback whales, spinner dolphins, Green sea turtles and more alongside best-in-class experts in marine life photography.

The world’s preeminent wellness destination, Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, in Costa Rica, invites guests to embark on a full-day surf expedition to Uvita, a quiet South Pacific surf town where consistent yet modest waves are ideal for beginner and intermediate surfers. A drive up the coast or scenic helicopter tour will kick off the excursion, followed by professional surf lessons, lunch at a local restaurant and a leisurely trek to a waterfall. Those seeking more reflection can rejoice in a thought-provoking session with journaling expert and creativity coach Laura Rubin, who will lead an ocean-themed journaling workshop at the beach during the month of March. A peaceful guided journey among the calm of the salty waters invites guests to experience the benefits of greater mental, emotional and physiological wellbeing.

In Los Cabos, Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection will launch an exclusive whale-watching safari, connecting guests with the heartwarming natural wonders of La Baja. The full-day adventure experience flies couples by private plane to Isla Magdalena, a secret whale destination, to have a close encounter with the majestic creatures first from above, in the sky, and then up close, by boat, followed by a fresh-catch lobster lunch and refreshments in a local fisherman’s hut. A sunset sail at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection will combine relaxation, luxury and adventure for large groups and families aboard a premium sailing yacht. Guests will be picked up right from the resort for an evening at sea spent taking in the stunning Baja scenery and learning how to use ancient sailing techniques, navigating with the stars.

Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection, the glamorous private slice of paradise in Anguilla, will curate a romantic sunset picnic overlooking white sands and the azure-blue sea at Turtle Cove, one of the Caribbean’s most secluded and private beaches. The resort’s team of culinary experts will create a custom menu with exquisite wine pairings to accompany the romantic journey, while a local artist serenades guests under the Anguillan sunset as they observe the picturesque ocean views transition to a starry island night.

At Susurros del Corazón, Auberge Resorts Collection, Punta de Mita’s chic and playful new beachfront retreat, Susurros at Sea, invites guests to set sail at sunset on the Pacific. The  convivial vibe and spirit of Susurros extends to the sea during a monthly event as guests sip handcrafted cocktails and indulge in seasonally-driven bites. Leisurely sailors will enjoy the visual feast of the first glimmering stars rising in the sky at dusk, sea life jumping in the water and the moon’s glow as it prepares for a new evening. The experience inspires connection that unites friends and family on the tranquil waters overlooking Bahia de Banderas, surrounded by the awe-inspiring natural elements.

This winter, White Barn Inn, Auberge Resorts Collection, the legendary coastal hideaway in Kennebunk, Maine, summons thrill seekers to suit up for a private cold-water surfing lesson at Gooch’s Beach with local surf school, Aquaholics. After catching some wintry waves in the Atlantic, guests can bundle up in fluffy towels and robes and sip hot beverages on the beach before heading back to the resort for a hot soak or massage at the spa. Guests will also receive Farmaesthetics skin salve to relieve tired hands and feet from a day on the surf.

Poolside escapes from coast to coast

Floating in the cloudline, Las Brisas pool cabanas at Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection, in Costa Rica, will be the stage for water-inspired spa experiences by THE WELL. Guests can choose a handcrafted treatment—from a therapeutic foot rub while sipping on a white coffee, made with a soothing blend of agua de azahar, to a circulation-promoting foot stretch, accompanied by an earthy smoothie, to a depuffing face and scalp therapy using crystal quartz, along with a generous cup of soothing herbal tea. Each treatment will include a cleansing ritual for the feet, highlighting herbs from the resort’s bountiful garden, salts and exfoliating volcanic ashes, and will end with a cooling aloe mask to leave skin feeling flawless and refreshed.

From March through early April, Etéreo, Auberge Resorts Collection will host a series of seven Moonlight Dinners. Illuminated by soft candlelight and all-white decor, these ultra-exclusive community-style dining experiences are set on a hightop table for 16 at the resort’s serene pool, overlooking the Caribbean waters. Guests will indulge in a special pairing menu curated by executive Chef Miguel Baltazar while enjoying a live cooking demo as they convene under the starry sky and beside the sparkling sea.

Take a heavenly evening dip in the iconic infinity pool at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection, where the resort’s new Celestial Bathing treatment layers ancient traditions with modern techniques, starting with a fireside evening ritual and a biodynamic water treatment. As the body floats in water, a combination of oils are poured on tension points along the head and the face, while the sounds of nature enhance the therapeutic effect of this transformative treatment. Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection will curate a pool-centered wellness experience, where guests will float during a guided night meditation with a specially designed underwater sound bath system to relax and replenish while stargazing under the Cabo sky.

The soulful Santa Fe retreat, Bishop’s Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection, will offer a restorative journey in its sacred and secluded Kiva Suites, overlooking the Jemez Mountain Range. Designed to attune the senses and soothe the soul, a meditative soak will feature Gruet bubbles and a curated chocolate bar with their partners at local chocolate house, Kakawa. While centuries-old recipes sustain energy and create euphoria in the body, mind and spirit, guests can indulge and reset, watching the sunset from the private outdoor plunge pool after a day of high desert adventures.

Known for its stunning pool scene, La Plage, the elegant Provencal-style retreat in Napa Valley, Auberge du Soleil, Auberge Resorts Collection will host nightly poolside aperitifs, featuring French canapes, mocktails, classic cocktails and wine for guests to enjoy while taking in the resort’s expansive vineyard views. Outdoor fire pits set the stage for cozy evenings, set aglow by market lights, while French jazz inspires a convivial vibe. Follow Aperitif Hour with a romantic night in, indulging in a luxurious lavender bath for two—featuring bath salts made from lavender oil and fresh sprigs sourced from property’s terraced lavender garden—and a three-course Le Creuset menu meant for sharing, accompanied by a select bottle of Napa Valley Cabernet. Couples can also indulge in the Bubbles & Bliss experience —an invigorating body scrub, nurturing massage and soothing soak for two at the tranquil Auberge du Soleil Spa, while sipping delicious Laurent Perrier champagne.

Downtown Newport’s iconic mansion, The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection, will throw a private after-hours fete for couples and small groups. The Jazz Age pool party will begin with a relaxing massage at the spa before heading to the resort’s indoor pool to watch classic black-and-white Hollywood films on a custom sailcloth movie screen, or select from jazz vinyl records to play on an antique gramophone. Guests can swim and enjoy champagne and wine pairings, plus a chef-prepared menu of delicious treats. For those who prefer a live show, The Vanderbilt can book a special performance by the famed synchronized swimming team, Aqualillies.

In New York’s Hudson Valley, the bucolic escape Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection will host a weekend-long visiting master series with Jobi Manson of Sefari, January 19-22. Each morning will offer a nature immersion, with evenings will be dedicated to a sunset group water meditation in the saltwater pool at the resort’s spa, Thistle. Filled with wildflowers, the serene, warmed pool sets the stage for an enhanced meditation experience guided by Jobi, who, drawing inspiration from the landscape, invites participants to slowly and softly become attuned with their environment.

Starting January 1 at Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection, the cozy countryside retreat in Connecticut, a pool-to-sauna experience by THE WELL will offer guests a sense of renewal among nature. Following a dip at Mayflower’s luxurious indoor pool, guests will venture outdoors to inhale the refreshing winter air before stepping inside a panoramic cedar sauna set beside the placid Blue Heron Pond. Immersed in the pastoral setting—a picturesque, snow-dusted landscape in wintertime—a roaring fire surrounded by cozy seating and blankets will invite guests to settle in and sip from thermoses of seasonal tea before heading back to the spa for a stretch or sumptuous massage.

High-altitude revelry and recovery

The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection, the 3,500-acre private retreat near Park City, will transform its cliffside pool into an outdoor speakeasy this winter. Eye-level with the Wasatch Mountains, the resort’s heated pool will set the stage for an inspired après scene, featuring a festive ice luge, as well as a menu of dry and spicy hot toddies with High West barrel selects and honey from Blue Sky apiaries, or spiritless local hot cocoas from local chocolatier, Ritual. Guests can also enjoy an in-pool campfire and floating poolside s’mores—the perfect way to cap a day of adventure in the Utah mountains. Swimming and stargazing under the brilliant western sky with Vaonis technology will also be offered Friday evenings in January, February and March.

In Park City, Utah, the landmark chalet-style icon at the base of Silver Lake Village, Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collection, will bring The Cold Plunge to its breathtaking Tom Kundig-designed rooftop overlooking the Wasatch Mountains. Starting January 1, a fitting time to jump-start the new year, Goldener’s Après Recovery will provide a plunge pool for guests to enjoy the benefits of cold-water therapy following a day on the mountains, which include  muscle recovery, a strengthened immune system, boost in mood and daily energy, pain and stress relief and better sleep. Plunge with our guided practitioners and choose from a curated menu of experiences, including a transformative HIIT workout and plunge, a pranayama breathwork plunge or a sauna and plunge with expertly guided breathwork.

At Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection, a high-altitude epicurean après ski adventure awaits on the most scenic rooftop destination in Telluride. In partnership with Murray’s Cheese, the luxurious ski-in, ski-out hotel perched in Mountain Village will offer the Murray’s Mountain Monger Menu, featuring a variety of curated and bespoke cheese journeys, only available at its Alpine Swim Club. Guests can cozy up in custom robes and winter hats and sample fireside fondue from a private poolside perch overlooking the snow-capped San Juans.

Aspen’s iconic social hub, Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection, puts an exciting twist on poolside après in the mountains, reinventing the traditional champagne and caviar experience. Available exclusively at its private heated pool and terrace, Bumps to Bumps will offer guests the opportunity to unwind and celebrate feats from the slopes with a curated collection of elevated après essentials, featuring a handcrafted Bomber shotski and Petrossian’s exclusive ‘Hotel Jerome Selection’ Ossetra caviar and the perfect champagne pairings from Krug and Dom Perignon.

In Telluride, guests of  Element 52, Auberge Resorts Collection can soak in the awe-inspiring scene of the San Juans with après-ski hot tubbing, accompanied by elevated snacks. Couples might choose a more celebratory care package, featuring champagne splits paired with local favorite, Telluride Truffles and chilled water, while serious adventurers seeking R&R after a day on the slopes can opt for an electrolyte mocktail, magnesium-rich trail mix and complete their soak with a CBD muscle salve. A family-friendly option will offer delicious homemade hot chocolate, Bobo’s oat bites and a snow-inspired bath toy for the kids to enjoy.
