Two New Auberge Resorts Collection Properties Named To Travel + Leisure's 2021 It List

Commodore Perry Estate and Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection Recognized on Prestigious List of Best New Hotels in the World

MILL VALLEY, Calif. (April 20, 2021) – Travel + Leisure today announced its sixteenth annual ‘It List,’ which features both eligible properties from the Auberge Resorts Collection portfolio—Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection in Austin, Texas and Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection in Washington, Conn. The magazine’s highly discerning ‘It List’ celebrates the world’s best new and renovated hotels and resorts. Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection marked the brand’s first urban resort and Austin’s newest luxury experience when it opened its doors in June 2020, while Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection, an exquisite country retreat in an idyllic New England town, introduced a dramatic reimagination in summer 2020.

Determined by Travel + Leisure editors, the annual ‘It List’ results from months of research on hundreds of new and renovated properties from around the globe. As two of the 71 recognized properties, Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection and Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection will be showcased in the May 2021 issue of Travel + Leisure and online at travelandleisure.com.

“We are honored that the trusted and discerning editors of Travel + Leisure have acknowledged these two standout Auberge Resorts Collection properties on their prestigious 2021 It List,” said Craig Reid, president and chief executive officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “This recognition is a testament to our dedicated teams at both properties, who deliver exceptional service and provide exquisite experiences that celebrate each of the hotel’s unique destinations.”

A treasured and historic landmark reborn, Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection is the first luxury urban hotel of its kind, blending intimacy and character with Austin’s heritage and independent spirit on a 10-acre estate in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Designed by Ken Fulk, the property boasts 54 spacious rooms and suites, including a collection of five signature suites, and offers a residential-style experience brimming with charm. Amenities include several distinct dining and drinking venues, including the newly opened Lutie’s Garden Restaurant, a dramatic 50-foot oval swimming pool, an organic urban garden, a state-of-the-art fitness studio and rich, experiential programming.

Set on 58-acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and woodlands and only a two-hour drive from New York City, Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection defines New England country living and is renowned as one of the northeast’s most lauded luxury hideaways. In honor of the Inn’s centennial birthday in 2020, the hotel unveiled a dramatic redesign led by acclaimed New York-based interior designer, Celerie Kemble. The redesign encompassed the reimagination of guest rooms and suites and the entirety of the Inn’s historic main house, including the Mayflower’s new fine dining restaurant, The Garden Room, as well as the Tap Room and Parlor. The property also introduced THE WELL at Mayflower Inn, a 20,000 square-foot wellness sanctuary, and The Huntress boutique. Additional amenities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, expansive gardens, a tennis court, miles of hiking trails and a standalone, two-story private event space.
