Two Auberge Resorts Collection Properties Named to Travel + Leisure's 2020 It List of Best New Hotels
The Lodge at Blue Sky and Mauna Lani Recognized Among Best of The Best
MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (February 20, 2020) – Two of the newest jewels in the Auberge Resorts Collection portfolio, The Lodge at Blue Sky in Utah and Mauna Lani in Hawai’i, have been honored on Travel + Leisure’s prestigious 2020 It List. Announced today, the magazine’s highly selective It List celebrates the world’s best new and renovated resorts. A contemporary mountain playground set on 3,500 sprawling acres, The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection is Park City’s newest destination for spirited, year-round mountain adventure and contemporary accommodations inspired by nature, while Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection is a vibrant, oceanfront resort steeped in cultural history on the Kohala Coast of the Island of Hawai’i.
Determined by Travel + Leisure editors, the 15th annual It List is the culmination of months of research on hundreds of new and renovated hotels around the world. As two of the 72 recognized properties, Mauna Lani and The Lodge at Blue Sky will be showcased in the March 2020 issue of Travel + Leisure and online at tandl.me/it-list.
“We are tremendously proud that both of our new properties have been named on Travel + Leisure’s 2020 It List by the magazine’s most trusted and discerning editors,” said Craig Reid, chief executive officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “With their own unique personalities, The Lodge at Blue Sky and Mauna Lani each bring the distinctive spirit and heritage of their destination to life through extraordinary experiences, exceptional design, locally inspired cuisine and warm, genuine service. We are delighted by the overwhelmingly positive guest response we have received since opening, and now, by this wonderful honor from Travel + Leisure.”
Along the Kohala Coast, where palm trees shade ancient royal fishponds, lies Mauna Lani, the newly reimagined luxury resort that honors its heritage as a place of profound spiritual power and rejuvenation. An oceanfront resort embedded within a natural sanctuary, verdant gardens and coral-strewn coves, the resort features five private bungalows and 334 guestrooms and suites, which set the stage for transformative experiences at the beach, three pools and five extraordinary restaurants and lounges. Mauna Lani, which opened in January 2020, is the first Auberge Resorts Collection property in the Hawaiian Islands.
Situated in the Wasatch mountains and surrounded by dramatic soaring peaks, high alpine fields, lush hillsides and a spring-fed creek, the 46-room Lodge at Blue Sky invites guests to reconnect with the natural environment through understated elegance, organic architecture that mirrors the majesty of the land and a collection of immersive outdoor adventures ranging from heli-skiing to fly fishing and horseback riding. The resort also offers restorative treatments at the Edge Spa and contemporary mountain cuisine at signature restaurant, YUTA, helmed by James Beard Award-Winning Executive Chef Galen Zamarra, who sources storied, sustainable ingredients from an onsite organic farm. Experiential activities exclusive to Blue Sky include learning the artisanal whiskey process at High West Whiskey Distillery and spending precious time with horses at the on-site horse rescue sanctuary.
