The crew at nearby Aquaholics will gear up the whole family with stand up paddleboards or kayaks to begin exploring the area along the picturesque Kennebunk River.

6:00pm | Kick off day one with a private, family-style dinner at Little Barn or our Cottages

Our cozy cottages or the patio off Little Barn restaurant are the perfect venue for a private, family-style meal prepared by White Barn Inn's chef. The team will cook up a communal dinner just for the fam.

8:00pm | Enjoy s’mores by the fire pit

After dinner, head to the fire pit for the quintessential fireside treat: s'mores. Our handcrafted and custom-wrapped chocolate bars from our pastry chef will have each member of the family's name handwritten on the wrapper.

Day 2

8:00am | Cycle the coast

Start the morning with an invigorating ride along the Kennebunk coastline. Our White Barn Inn can curate the route based on your family's preferences and comfort levels on a bike, ensuring a pleasurable and picturesque ride.

10:00am | Eat pancakes on the Little Barn porch

Gather for a hearty breakfast at Little Barn.

12:00pm | Witness modern farmsteading in action with Spring Creek Farm

Head to nearby Spring Creek Farm for an afternoon of family-friendly activities in this pictoral setting. Start off with an ecology hike led by owner Nick, or Farm Yoga on the field with Hollie, then take a private tour of the farm to see what it's like to run a sustainable and educational agricultural property. Meet and greet the animals, even getting a chance to groom the horses or feed the sheep.

1:00pm | …And don’t forget the picnic

For the day at Spring Creek, our team will set up the family with a picnic spread to be enjoyed on a meadow overlooking the farm and surrounding woodland.

5:00pm | Partake in games by the fire (while Mom & Dad buzz for a buzz!)

As the day draws near an end, head to the Living Room for a round of board games and puzzles by our fireplace. Adults can stop at our antique Grandfather Clock and press the hidden doorbell to "buzz" for an off-menu summer cocktail that will get delivered by one of our bartenders.

7:00pm | Dig into a dockside dinner spread

Our private pier along the Kennebunk River is the perfect setting for an al fresco family dining experience by the water. Our team will set up a cozy tablescape on which to enjoy our menu of classic New England favorites like lobster rolls and more.

9:00pm | Catch a private dockside movie screening

Bundle up in a blanket for a private movie screening. Snack on sweet treats like chocolate covered blueberries while watching a family-friendly coastal film curated by the White Barn team. We'll keep the fire pit roaring and surprise you with a telescope for stargazing.

Day 3

8:00am | Spend the morning with a Lobster Fisherman

Hit the open seas and get a glimpse into the day in the life of a lobster fisherman. Your guide, Captain Shawn, is a second-generation fisherman who will lead families into a deeper understanding of Maine's aquaculture community. Haul lobster traps, measure and catalog the lobsters before throwing them back to the water so they can keep growing.

12:00pm | Fuel up with brunch at Little Barn

A morning at sea calls for a fortifying brunch at Little Barn.

3:00pm | Enjoy an afternoon antiquing in town

White Barn Inn has partnered with Jackie Greeney, tastemaker and owner of local shop SEACRAFT, to curate a mini field guide to Kennebunk, which outlines a day-long excursion with stops at the area’s best antique and vintage shops, as well as locally loved dining spots.

7:00pm | Partake in a Maine tradition with a “Lobstah Suppah”

Dress up in your finest for a special meal to enjoy the delicious lobster menu at our White Barn restaurant. Lobster "suppah" is a longstanding tradition for Mainers and a fun reason to get the entire family dressed up in their finest. Our team will surprise kiddos with a mini stuffed lobster to take home.

Day 4

8:00am | Try your hand at surfing

We invite kiddos to try their hand at surfing with local Kennebunk shop Aquaholics. This 1.5 hour lesson will cover the basics, giving children all the confidence to learn to catch a wave at our famed Gooch's Beach.

9:30am | Head to breakfast at Little Barn

11:00am | See Maine from the skies

While Kennebunk is known for its beaches, there's nothing like seeing our beautiful area from high in the air. Explore the landmarks and sites dotting the coast—from historic forts and lighthouses to rolling farmlands and beaches during this thrilling, guided hourlong tour.

1:00pm | Hit the infamous Clam Shack

This Kennebunk institution - located right in town on the river - has some of the best lobster rolls and fried seafood in all of Maine.

2:30pm | Grab some pool time (and an ice cream sandwich)

Relax poolside with the family, and don't miss when the team brings out our vintage tricycle cart filled with homemade ice cream sandwiches from White Barn Inn's culinary team.

4:00pm | Create your own ‘Barn Craft’

Local Martha Stewart alum, lifestyle expert and former food producer, Kathy Oberman, will engage the entire family with a fun craft tutorial that speaks to Maine's long history of craftsmanship. Adults and kiddos can try their hand on painting wooden buoys, dying napkins with natural food dyes made using scraps from our kitchen, or pouring their own beeswax candles.

7:00pm | Delight in dinner at Little Barn

Settle into our casual restaurant for a delicious meal that celebrates the bounty of Maine.

Day 5

All Day | Casco Bay Boat Tour with Captain Larus Isfeld

Join Larus Isfeld, Captain, Casco Bay expert and co-founder of North Atlantic adventures for an unforgettable day at sea. Hop aboard for a tour of Casco Bay and take in the stunning lighthouses and scenery of its 100+ islands, as well as local wildlife like seals and osprey. Larus will provide his expertise on the history and natural surroundings of Casco Bay as you take in the sights. Swing by a local oyster farm to try your hand at shucking and tasting oysters pulled straight from the ocean. Following your boat tour, end your afternoon at a locals-only Lobster Shack for a quintessential New England meal. Indulge in dock-to-dish dining featuring the freshest Maine lobster, alongside a refreshing beer, crisp glass of wine or ice cold soda.

Rainy Day Plan! | Explore a local’s favorite finds and haunts

Forecast showing rain? We'll surprise the family with our beautiful guide created in partnership with local tastemaker, shop owner and creative producer Jackie Greaney. Jackie and her family are our trusted in-the-know Kennebunk residents, and they put together the perfect guidebook for exploring the greater area, including the best ice cream shop, nautical stores, an authentic fish market that's a secret lunch spot and more.

7:00pm | Order the blueberry pie at Mable’s

After an adventurous day, hit this local favorite for a seafood dinner and a delightful piece of blueberry pie.

Day 6

8:00am | Take a tour with an oyster farmer

Hit the seas with biologist, guide and oyster farmer Thomas Henninger. Aboard his working oyster boat, you'll learn how these bivalves are raised from a nursery to market. Get your hands dirty by raking the cages, scrubbing oysters and reaping the rewards with a taste straight from the ocean. Along the way, you'll pass seals, Ospreys and Bald Eagles, as well as historic sites and forts. For mom and dad, Thomas will also pair the oysters tasted with wines from the French Loire Valley for a mini oyster + wine tasting aboard the boat.

10:00am | Fuel up for the drive ahead

Enjoy a final breakfast together at Little Barn.

Departure | Chef’s Groaning Board

Before you hit the road, stop by the Barn Pantry to fill your wax paper bag up with snacks—from Chef's special dried fruit and nut mix to fresh baked breads from our pastry chef. Don't forget to grab a warm homemade chocolate chip cookie, too.
