The Experience
Take aim at the sporting life as you test your skills in our 25-stand sporting clay course. Our experienced instructors teach a foundation of etiquette and technique while providing plenty of challenges to improve your mastery of the sport. In keeping with our deep commitment to the environment, all of our clay discs are biodegradable so that they don't pollute the Earth, our ammunition is specially ordered from Europe to include paper wads, rather than plastic wads, and all bullet casings are recycled.
The Sporting Clay Experience
Our 25-stand sporting clay shooting course offers guests multiple clay target scenarios that mimic the experience of hunting in the field with a shotgun. Our expert instructors will focus on basic gun fitting, safety, eye dominance and shooting techniques using the Percy Stanbury method. This is a great experience for all skill levels and group sizes

Simulated Driven Experience
A "driven shoot" is a tradition of field sport in the United Kingdom where birds are driven to fly over the heads of shooters in the field. As an animal sanctuary, The Lodge at Blue Sky does not practice hunting of any kind, but we offer a "simulated driven shoot" where guests can learn the techniques involved in this tradition through the use of clay targets which imitate the flight of pheasants and partridges. The first half of the experience focuses on instruction using the Percy Stanbury method, followed by an “Elevenses” meal and several simulated drives in the field. Elevenses is the customary practice of a midday elevated snack and beverage.
