Getting to Primland Resort

At the end of the road to Primland lies a beauty so vast and pure, the voyage becomes inconsequential.

Primland Resort is located on the Blue Ridge Plateau off of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Southwestern Blue Ridge Mountains. The resort is located approximately five and a half hours from Washington D.C., only one and a half hours from either Greensboro or Roanoke and two hours from Charlotte. It is serviced by two entrances, one in the north and one in the south.

Guests, please be aware of the construction on U.S. 58 between Meadows of Dan and Stuart. If traveling on this route, expect slight delays. Please plan accordingly.

From Roanoke (75 Miles): Take I-81 South. Exit at Hwy 8 South (2nd Christiansburg exit) and follow 30 mi. to Blue Ridge Pkwy. Take Pkwy south 10 mi. to the US 58 Exit. Follow US 58 east toward Stuart for 4 1/2 mi., then turn right on Busted Rock Rd. Follow Busted Rock 2 mi. to Primland’s North Gate. (Note: no firearms allowed on Blue Ridge Parkway.)

From I-77 Corridor Including Charlotte (145 miles): Take I-77 to Exit # 14, Hillsville, Virginia. Take US 58 East for 29 miles. Take a right at Busted Rock Road. Follow Busted Rock for 2 miles to Primland’s North Gate.

From Winston-Salem (64 miles): Take US 52 North to Germanton exit, Hwy 8 North for 42 miles, turning west onto US 58 in Stuart. Follow US 58 West for 11 miles and turn left at Busted Rock Road. (See Primland sign.) Follow Busted Rock for 2 miles to Primland’s North Gate.

From Raleigh (162 miles): Take I-40 West to Exit # 127 (Greensboro). Take combined Hwy’s 29/220 North to Wendover Ave. West (Hwy 70/220) to Battleground Ave. (220 north). Take US 220 north to Martinsville. At Martinsville, turn West onto US 58 toward Stuart. Bypass around Stuart and stay on US 58 West for approximately 11more miles, turning left onto Busted Rock Road. (See Primland sign.) Follow Busted Rock for 2 miles to Primland’s North Gate.

From Greensboro or Piedmont Triad International Airport (83 miles): Take US 220 North to Martinsville. (If coming from Airport, follow exit signs to Hwy 68 North, which ultimately merges with US 220 North.) At Martinsville, turn West onto US 58 toward Stuart. Bypass around Stuart and stay on US 58 West for approximately 11more miles, turning left onto Busted Rock Road. (See Primland sign.) Follow Busted Rock for 2 miles to Primland’s North Gate.

From Richmond (215 miles): Take US 360 West to South Boston; then take US 58 approximately 100 miles to Stuart. Bypass around Stuart and stay on US 58 West for approximately 11 more miles, turning left onto Busted Rock Road. (See Primland sign.) Follow Busted Rock for 2 miles to Primland’s North Gate.

From Mt. Airy (12 Miles): Take # 103 east to Claudville, VA. Turn left on Route #773 at Primland sign (5 miles after crossing VA state line); follow for 1/2 mi.; turn right on Route #763 and follow 1/2 mi. to Primland’s Gate.

From Winston-Salem (58 miles): Take US #52 North to Mt. Airy. Exit onto US 52 North Business. In center of Mt. Airy, turn right on #103 and follow directions from Mt. Airy, above.

From Greensboro (86 Miles): Take I-40 West toward AIRPORT-WINSTON-SALEM. Take Exit #193B on to US #52 North and follow to Mt. Airy. Exit onto US 52 North Business. Turn right on #103 and follow directions from Mt. Airy, above.

From Charlotte (120 miles): Take I-77 North to Exit #100 (Mt. Airy). Turn right following Pine Street through Mt. Airy. Continue on Pine Street, which becomes #103, then follow directions above.

From Raleigh (169 Miles): Take I-40 West toward Winston Salem. Take Exit #193B on to US #52 North and follow to Mt. Airy. Exit onto US 52 North Business. In center of town, turn right on #103 and follow directions from Mt. Airy, above.

From Roanoke (75 Miles): Take US 220 south to US 220 South Bypass around Martinsville. Take US 58 West to Stuart. Turn left onto Hwy 8 South and follow through Stuart to Hwy 103 South. Turn right on 103 and go approximately 9 miles to Claudville. Turn right on Route #773 and follow 1 mile; turn right on Route #763 and follow 1/2 mile to Primland’s Gate.

From Richmond (215 miles): Take US 360 West to South Boston, then US 58 West to Stuart. Turn left onto Hwy 8 South and follow through Stuart to Hwy 103 South. Turn right on 103 and go approximately 9 miles to Claudville. Turn right on Route #773 and follow 1 mile; turn right on Route #763 and follow 1/2 mile to Primland’s Gate.
