3-4 PM | Cocktails Through the Ages – Join our expert bar team in The Dining Room at The Vanderbilt to learn how to make cocktails that celebrate the rich history and allure of our Downtown Mansion and the charm of Newport. Guests will learn how to make one classic Colonial-era cocktail inspired by the favorite libations of our founding fathers, one Gilded Age cocktail from the time of Alfred Vanderbilt and one signature cocktail from our current menu that embodies the fresh flavors of the coast with an updated nuance of mixology.

5-6 PM | Tower of Bubbles, Champagne Hour – Watch as our expert beverage team crafts a tower of vintage glass coupes at the bar and pop champagne to signal the start of weekend festivities at our Downtown Mansion.

5-9:30 PM | Joyeux Noel Feast – Pull back the portico curtains to reveal The Dining Room at The Vanderbilt. Enjoy a winter wonderland Christmas Eve supper consisting of four courses with luxurious supplements including caviar and winter truffles.

12-7 PM | Yuletide Dinner in the Mansion – Enjoy a four course meal served family style as we celebrate in the spirit of the holiday. Journey to The Dining Room after opening presents for a late lunch or for a special dinner to cap off your Christmas.

9-11 AM | The Art of Scrimshaw – While in Newport, learn the basics of a time-honored tradition at our coastal Downtown Mansion: The Art of Scrimshaw. Join Local Scrimshaw Master Brian Kiracofe, owner of Newport Scrimshanders for over 40 years, for a workshop in The Library to try your hand at this artform.
