The Experience

Experience the magic of beekeeping at The Honey Exchange, our local Portland premiere hive and honey store. Get a glimpse at a day in the life of a beekeeper, which will delight the imagination and the senses as you experience beekeeping at its fullest—from hive science to honey tasting and more. Each class will begin outside at the Apiary, where a master beekeeper will talk about where the bees are in their lifecycle, the biology and ecology behind beekeeping, and guests can see the bees in action. Then, you’ll head inside to the kitchen for a honey tasting of five to six different types of honey. During July and August, get a glimpse at the honey extraction process, where the team uncaps and spins honey out of the frames.
